Edinburgh Wedding Venues

Scotland’s capital city is, to my mind, one of the most beautiful cities in the country. With dramatic landscapes, gorgeous higgledy-piggledy side streets and a plethrora of ancient buildings it has character in spades. Let’s take a look at the best Edinburgh wedding venues.

One of the great things about Edinburgh are the number of fabulous alternative wedding venues available! There really are too many to list here but my personal favourites include the Caves, an 18th century underground vault, the Signet Library, a stunning period library with upper and lower rooms, the Secret Herb Garden, needs no further elaboration, and Edinburgh Zoo, (duh – can we arrange for the resident snow leopard to be in attendance as ring-bearer?)

Lothian Chambers, Edinburgh

One of these characterful venues is the Lothian Chambers, where we were lucky enough to be invited to photograph Giulia & Fraser for their intimate wedding.

An early 20th-century building, Lothian Chambers has three suites available for weddings. It offers the City of Edinburgh suite, the Melbourne suite, and the McIntyre suite, so it is suitable for any guest list. Sadly however, it is about to become the French consultate in Edinburgh. It will no longer be available for weddings so let’s absorb these beautiful photos in lieu!

The bride was the epitome of the very chic boho, rock and roll bride trend. Giulia rocked her white leather jacket, flower crown, and thistle-filled bouquet.

Can we also talk about those shoes…(!)
Of course we must not leave out the groom. One of the best things about a Scottish wedding has to be the kilts, worn very dashingly by Fraser.

The venue itself was really striking, with ornamental wrought iron bannisters, swirling marble columns and towering ceilings, perfectly complementing the gorgeous happy vibes of this wedding.

Following some drinks, including the couples very own beer! the party moved into a beautiful, bright marquee in the garden for a delicious hog roast and cake provided by the bride.
