Kaj and Ed’s day started their Mayfair Library wedding in Westminster with a gathering of close friends and family. First of all, this wedding is the perfect combination of fashion, fun and family. Kaj knew she didn’t want a ‘traditional wedding’ and decided to wear two different coloured wedding dresses, rather then wearing white. The first was a pretty shade of dovetail grey, from Coast. Her second evening gown for the party was a No.1 by Jenny Packham dress with blush skirt and a black lace overlay on the bodice.
We joined the couple at Mayfair Library for their ceremony. Filled with personal touches in a brightly lit room overlooking Mount Street Gardens. Ed’s brave 4 year old nephew Jack performed the only reading at the wedding. He learnt the simple poem ‘Some Things Go Together’ by Charlotte Zolotow by heart and was a great crowd pleaser! Guests later enjoyed a short walk through the nearby gardens whilst the couple enjoyed their portrait session among the tropical tress. In contrast to their Mayfair Library wedding which was more traditional. As a result the couple wanted something a bit quirky and different. Therefore they chose to have their wedding reception at Brunswick house in Vauxhall.
Brunswick House wedding Reception
Most noteworthy, Kaj and Ed knew of the venue in Vauxhall for a long time, but had never actually gone inside! A friend suggested going for a drink at the venue. Kaj loved the the eccentric and quirky antiques which form the backdrop for the venue. They knew it was perfect for them! On arrival guests enjoyed welcome drinks, which allowed us to met the couple via the secret back entrance leading upstairs for some quirky portraits.
The couple are massive foodies. Especially relevant, the venue offer a seasonal menu that changes daily. Lamb was the main course, which was served family style on big platters to which everyone helped themselves. Dessert was a chocolate and caramel tart which probably was the highlight of the dinner! In addition the colorful rooms interlink allowing guests to wonder through the evolving collection of antiques. The venue has a very distinctive and ever-changing décor. Making it perfect for couples wanting a venue which never looks the same and requires very little dressing! In conclusion, if you’re looking for a quirky, unique wedding venue filled with character and great food, check out Brunswick House.
