Oxford wedding photographer Katy & Co. – This Bletchingdon wedding in Oxfordshire took place on a gorgeous summer’s day. Katie and Ben married at Saint Giles Church in Bletchingdon, Oxfordshire. Just around the corner from where Katie grew up. They decided to add their love of Italy to their quintessentially English wedding. The couple described their day as the ‘Mediterranean meets Oxfordshire’.
The day began at Katie’s family home. She wanted a really relaxed morning, leaving plenty of time to get ready and head to the church. As a result the family enjoyed a full English breakfast before starting to get ready! Katie’s wedding dress from Pronovias ‘Urdiel’. She looked absolutely stunning in her high neck lace wedding dress teamed with an intricate chignon and a wild, cascading bouquet while Ben kept it classic in tails accessorizing with a massive smile.
The ceremony at St Giles was very quaint, with Katie going fully traditional with her father lifting her veil at the end of the nave. Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the churchyard, while Katie & Ben hopped into their wedding car “Fifi” supplied by Cotswold500. They made a getaway to a near by field for some fun portraits and then over to the reception a short drive away.
The garden marquee wedding reception
It was a beautiful bright marquee filled with and herb infused wild flowers from Oxford Marquees. The couple held the reception in a local friend’s back garden. Complete with fruit orchards! The brides sister created a hand made table plan. Ben added signage hanging from his bicycle. There even featured a mysterious comical swimming man sign to warn guests of the river. Guests enjoyed canapes of delicious Italian food, rustic bread, olives and fresh lemonade. Most of all some guests enjoyed becoming chefs for the evening! due to learning to carve lamb at the table. Complete with novelty chefs hats and aprons all provided by Tailor Made Top Nosh
As the sun set, speeches were followed by the cutting of the cheese cake by The Oxford Cheese Company. The evening was topped off by dancing, animal masks to the beats of 29 Fingers. “Deciding right at the start what is really important to you. Where you want to spend the money helps you to economise on other things. Have a few minutes during the day just the two of you, to take it all in together.”
